Mačkat is 16km away from the centre of Zlatibor and for very long time it has been visited for tasty food in far-off known restaurants. There are about 800 residents in the village who mostly do agriculture and produce dry meat products. Smoked ham produced here is of the top quality and it has become Zlatibor region’s trade mark. Mačkat is also well- known for roasted lambs and suckling pigs. Every winter “Pršutijada” is held in January and is visited by ten thousand visitors.
